Innovations in Neuroscience. Phoenix, Arizona March 5 - March 6, 2009


Course Goal

This year the focus is on neurosurgery. The course will provide attendees with asystematic review of the major subspecialties with acurrent assessment of diagnostic and treatment modalities available for individuals with neurosurgical disorders.


Overall Course Objectives

Demonstrate an understanding and provide a review of the treatment of vascular malformations and aneurysms.
Compare open surgical techniques with the state of the art endovascular techniques.
Cite the history of the development of treatments for spinal disorders with afocus on vertebral and intramedullary spinal tumors.
List the various types of interventions for brain tumors that are now available, including surgical and imaging strategies.
Provide an overview of the diagnosis and management of pediatric hydrocephalus.
